The Gloucestershire wassailers are a group
of singers/musicians who specialise in the wassail songs of
that county.
They have appeared twice at the Banbury Hobby
Horse Festival in 2003.
Their performance features
the wassailing bowl and the "broad", a curious
creature resembling the Welsh Mari Lwyd.
Apart from their wassail repertoire, they
sing a wide variety of songs, mainly English traditional,
with lively multi-instrumental accompaniment.
This will be
their
first appearance at the Ride a Cock Horse Folk Club.
